3½ or seven-week sessions, with a two-week option for new 9 or 10-year-old campers at
Woodward Reservoir in Plymouth, Vermont
Since 1939, Timberlake has offered a summer of challenging adventures and fun in the woods. Campers live in lakeside cabins with seven or eight others their age and two counselors. The whole camp sings favorite songs after breakfast, and then sits together in Silent Meeting before going off for the morning activity. Activity areas include Outdoor Living Skills, Barns & Gardens, Waterfront, Work Projects, and Creative Arts. Over three or four mornings, a camper might learn the basic canoe paddle strokes, while in the afternoons he helps nail siding on a new cabin, take a short hike to a nearby pond for a swim, and bake bread for dinner. In the evening, everyone might be running through the woods during a rowdy all-camp game or roasting marshmallows at a cabin cookout. Campers choose one trip over the summer, from overnight hiking trips for the less experienced to hikes covering more than ten miles a day.
F&W also offers a Junior Counselor opportunity; follow this link for more details.
Timberlake is an exciting place for boys to practice skills, make new friends, safely test their limits, and discover exactly what kind of person they would like to be.
