Boys & Gender Non-Binary Summer Camp Ages 9-14 Timberlake

Campers learn outdoor living skills, take extended wilderness travel trips, and spend time on the lake, canoeing, kayaking and swimming. Campers are also involved in most of the building projects at Timberlake, and learn to harvest their own food in our barns and gardens. Impromptu songs, dances and drama play a large part in everyday camp life, as well.

Campers develop an appreciation for their own strength, competence and creativity, while gaining lasting friendships, self-awareness and resolve. In addition to outdoor living skills, hiking and wilderness exploration, campers learn how to use their hands to design, build, farm and garden. They also learn to express themselves through music and the creative arts, and regularly spend time on the lake.

Campers learn to live off-grid, unplugged and close to the land in a small supportive community. Crafts, music, and journaling are all part of the experience, as are felling trees, raising yurts, and fashioning dish racks from branches to create a wilderness home. Campers practice backcountry skills, including cooking meals without appliances and telling time without clocks, all while building their self-confidence.

Boys & Gender Non-Binary Summer Camp Ages 11-14 Flying Cloud

Completely unplugged and living off the land, campers learn to identify animal tracks, pump water to drink, cook meals over an open fire, and build the shelters where they sleep. They also enjoy crafts and music, play games, swim at nearby Lake Ninevah, and participate in day and extended overnight hiking trips, with a focus on community and self-assurance.

Mixed Gender Summer Camp, Ages 11-14 Saltash Mountain

Saltash Mountain is a small wilderness adventure camp where tweens and teens explore backpacking, canoeing and rock climbing in the backcountry of Vermont. Campers progress from 3-day to 6-day trips and learn to accept each other, celebrate themselves, and work cooperatively. Living together in open-sided cabins, they play guitar and piano, and explore carpentry, creative writing, gardening and other creative activities.

Mixed Gender Summer Camp for Teens Ages 15-17 Questers

For teens eager for extended wilderness trips, Questers is an outdoor adventure camp that fosters leadership, community and personal growth. With options for full or half-summer sessions, campers hike the 272-mile-Long Trail in 36 days, or embark for 18 days on canoe, rock climbing and backpacking outings in the White Mountains and Adirondacks.

Mixed Gender Summer Camp for Teens Ages 15-17 Tamarack Farm

Teens gain confidence through the meaningful work of running the farm and in face-to-face discussions. Together, they tackle new challenges, such as building rafters for a new cabin or harvesting beets for several camps. In daily conversations, teens brainstorm how to plan dinner for 80 people, farm in a sustainable way, and create communities working toward racial and class justice.
