Over the next few days/weeks, we will share stories via our blog about working at Farm & Wilderness during the summer camp season. We hope these stories inspire you to learn more about the wide range of jobs you might do at one of our camps, our Farm, and our facilities and operations departments. Most importantly, I hope these stories get you thinking about the work you want to do now and in the future, where you want to do it, and with whom.
I often reflect on the kind of work I sought to do and where I did it. Many of my career decisions came down to the values the organization lived by--and how they were expressed day-to-day. I came to F&W because of its values, its history, and the incredible potential for us to make a difference in so many people's lives. I was and continue to be inspired by my colleagues and our multigenerational community of campers and families, alumni and former staff.
I hope that you enjoy the stories about what it means to live simply at our camps and work with youth, that you consider how F&W trains and supports our summer staff during and after summer, and that you reflect on the value of the skills and mindsets you develop working at camp. So, I'll ask you--what are you looking for? What are you ready to contribute? Where might F&W fit in on your professional and learning journey?
