We're three episodes into our Vermont summer camp spring podcast series...
So there's plenty of time to catch up.
It's here! The new channel through which our community can hear the stories and voices behind our favorite Green Mountain havens. Farm & Wilderness Camps now has a podcast! You can tune in once a week(ish) to hear from our directors, staff, and community members as Timberlake Director Jarod "W" Wunneburger brings campfire conversation right to your device.
Learn more about our unplugged summer camps and programs, enjoy new and familiar tales, and share with your friends!
This podcast is for current, past, and prospective campers, staff, and families. We’ll dive into conversations with some of our camp directors, share the secrets of how to prepare for the summer, and share stories from our community. For now this is a limited series in Spring 2023....... unless we get some great listeners!
Here's what has hit the pod-sphere from us thus far:
1. Interview with Elliot, Director of Flying Cloud
In this episode we'll hear from Elliot, the current director of Flying Cloud. Flying Cloud is a rugged off-grid camp that serves boys and non-binary campers aged 11-14. We discuss the unique magic of the small size, the recent changes at FC, some FC history, and we share a bit of orientation to the show.
They get into a lot of the nitty-gritty about what it means to live simply for a summer in a tight-nit community, finding comfort in surprising places, and even acquiring night vision powers... sorta. Check it out!
2. Interview with Adair, Saltash Mountain Director
In this episode we'll hear from Adair, the new director of Saltash Mountain Camp. SAM Camp is a joyful camp that serves campers of all genders aged 11-14. We discuss the unique mix of trips and skits, the courage to do both, and a bit of the history of SAM Camp.
It's an absolute blast to hear more about Adair, and how the Saltash Mountain programming lights up her heart. We learn more about her approach for bravery & vulnerability on the train, on the stage, and as a mentor for young adults.
Also, she shares an Appalachian Trail meetcute that's sure to have you permit hunting for your own thru-hike in search of true love. Give it a listen.
