F&W Afterschool Program Update

Written by Farm and Wilderness Conservation Staff | February 02, 2024

During the off-season, Farm & Wilderness Camps collaborates with the F&W Farm Team to offer engaging after-school programs to 8 local elementary schools. Catering to kindergarten through 6th grade students, the sessions, lasting 1 to 1.5 hours, alternate monthly between environmental education and farm-based themes. Activities include hands-on experiences like creating beaver dams, apple tastings, cider making, and visits from adorable baby goats. The November session featured Boots and Benny, two charming baby goats, captivating students with goat trivia and races. December's focus was on how plants survive winter, with activities such as a milkweed seed race and crafting unique winter twig designs. Discover more about these enriching programs on the Farm and Wilderness Conservation Website.
