“To get to the point where diversity is a matter of fact, you have to address all the options for diversity…not just financial access.”

__________

Dana Hughes Moorhead is an expert in creating first experiences and expanding diverse communities. Starting in Spring 2022, F&W has welcomed her aboard to do just that.

A community engagement specialist, Dana Hughes Moorhead has a diverse and unique background –– ranging from the non-profit and education sectors to the hospitality industry.

Educated at Lehigh University (BA in Sociology and M. Ed. in Education) and Boston University (Graduate Certificate in Tourism and Hospitality Management), Dana believes in building community by focusing on access and engagement. Dana is known for creating “First Experiences” and has dedicated much of her professional career to this goal. With expertise in the development and marketing of events and programs that focus overall on building cultural capital, Dana's work has touched the lives of generations.

Dana has also taught enrichment workshops and seminars to students ranging from grade school through the graduate level. Currently, Dana is leading community engagement projects for Princeton University (Program for Community-Engaged Scholarship), Friends of Princeton Open Space, Broadway and McCarter Theatre Center.

In addition to her professional experience, Dana is an active member of the Hun School of Princeton alumni board, Co-founder of Hun Black Alumni Network, leader of the Family Association of Ying Hua International School and parent representative for Princeton Common Ground. Dana has received numerous awards and recognition for her service to the Princeton community, including the Arts Council of Princeton's Community Involvement Award.

Starting this spring, Dana is working with Farm & Wilderness to introduce BIPOC families to camp. She’ll host events spanning from Vermont to the D.C. area, virtual and in person alike, to introduce aspects of the Farm & Wilderness experience to those who don’t yet know about it.

Additionally, Dana will work to expand F&W’s activities to help connect BIPOC Farm & Wilderness Families, new and returning alike.

We’re thrilled to welcome Dana aboard and are grateful for all her meaningful work!
