It is with sadness that I share the passing of Cindy Amatniek, current trustee and Ninevah seasonal resident, Dark Meadow alumna, and parent of Indian Brook camper then staff, among her many roles. Her husband Max reached out to us with this update last night:
Dear Campers, Board Colleagues, and Farm and Wilderness devotes,
I’m writing to inform you of the passing of Joan Cindy Amatniek who died today from GBM (Glioblastoma Multiforme). Her death was relatively easy after having survived the disease for almost 2 years. Walking, hiking, and a love for the F&W environment kept her going much longer than the typical patient.
The funeral announcement is below but we are also intending a life celebration in the late spring/early summer. We may have to make it a traveling life festival.
Thank you,
Max, Joan Cindy’s husband
