Someday there will be goats at silent meeting.
Someday we will play in 100 pounds of oatmeal.
Someday we will kayak with mermaids.
Someday we will attend a wedding for alpacas.
Someday we will take spray showers in the Hobart dish room.
While Someday can be a break from our Farm & Wilderness practice of simple living (example: “Someday singing will be Karaoke, or “Someday we will have dessert of lunch”) it can be a reminder for all of us why we cherish our summer in the woods, away from many of the extravagances of our lives away from camp.
Our love for this community extends well beyond those with two feet. Before pronouncing Charlotte and Pearl alpaca and alpaca, their vows were translated and shared with the IB community.
“Charlotte. The second we first made alpaca eye-contact in that green pasture, I knew in my alpaca sized heart that you’d be a special alpaca in my alpaca lifetime. I am so beyond alpaca delighted that we can spend the rest of our alpaca lives together, living in the lusciously green and harmonious space on the Farm & Wilderness. The legends say that an alpaca marriage is what keeps this very planet Earth in perfect balance and spinning peacefully throughout the starriest of galaxies. And now, I can see with my alpaca eyes why in the joining of our alpaca souls in alpaca matrimony, we are unstoppable. Together.
I vow to never spit on your during arguments.
I vow to always be sheared next to you.
I vow to always share my grass with you…
I love you, babe.”
