The summer is flying by at the Barn Day Camp. We have begun our second set of overnights. Our baby pigs are getting really big, Condor the rabbit is looking for a playpen so he can be out of his cage more, and our goats are busy trying to figure out ways to escape from their fences. We have harvested berries and vegetables from our garden and from some of the other camps. These are delicious snacks!
If you visit the waterfront, you can see our new addition. At the Barn Day Camp, you get to have swim lessons in the rain as long is there hasn’t been thunder or lightening for a half hour. The campers love swimming in the rain. However, we had a problem. Their towels were soaking wet when they got out.
So Luke, our Work Projects Head had an idea. Let’s build a towel rack using the materials we have. So off they went, into the woods to gather “Y” shaped sticks. Many kids worked on the towel rack and it was finished just in time for our rainy week.
Now we have a wonderful hand-made towel rack that is available for folks to use when the visit our waterfront.
Until the next time.
