The goats have been born and are awaiting some love! There are over 120 campers and 60 staff waiting to form a community that is truly our own. Whether it’s your first or fourth time, I’d love to connect with you about how we can help facilitate this upcoming experience together.
Here is (just about) everything you need to prepare for your summer.
Besides preparing campers emotionally for the adventure they are about to embark on, you may have some questions about the nitty gritty of what to pack. We encourage kids to explore at camp which often means getting dirty and wearing practical clothes.
Here are a few Packing Tips & Details that families have found useful to know as you pack for an Indian Brook Summer ADVENTURE! There are various items like knives and backpacking equipment that we lend to campers, so consider contacting us before going out and buying something new.
To assist us in a lice-free summer please check your camper regularly in the weeks before camp and treat if necessary. If lice or nits are found we will take steps to have your child treated before entering the cabin area.
Regarding homesickness, this New York Times blog is a great resource. The good news is there is a lot you can do to prepare and prevent homesickness and we will be there to support your camper the entire time. For those who like to read more of the research, there is a more extensive and clinical pediatrics article.
Everything from pronouns to philosophy.

You can expect in June that a Trip Preference survey for campers in BIG LODGE (11-12-year-olds) and SENIOR LODGE (13-14-year-olds) will be sent to you via email. FIRST LODGE (9-10-year-olds) will experience a 2 night/3 day overnight that will include a canoe and/or a hiking exploration! Second half campers can expect to receive a trip preference email by mid-July.
The stories of what we’re up to and the development of our community are told best by campers through their personal narratives at the end of the summer AND I’ll be in touch a few times throughout the summer.
Lodge Directors (one for each age group) will be your primary contact for questions and concerns during the summer. They will be introduced in June so you can reach out via phone or email. Please remember we are with your camper and without electronics most every day. If there is an urgent matter you may page me June – Aug. at 888.622.3276
