Campers have already begun immersing themselves in life here; getting acquainted with our new pig Phyllis, several bunnies, and the chickens during barn chores, beginning swim lessons, dreaming up wild art projects in Creative Arts, and learning to wield carpentry tools in Work Projects and at the Forge. IB is particularly excited to be sharing this song, which was performed at the Women’s March this year, and campers are already questioning, in keeping with one of the lyrics of the song, what are things that we “can’t keep quiet [about] anymore”? We are beginning exciting Inclusivity and Equity conversations about gender, intersectionality and how we understand our identities at camp and in the larger world. We are challenging ourselves to ask big questions about ourselves and our world and notice the ways that systems of oppression work both at camp and outside of our community here.
