As I drove up to see the Questers on Friday afternoon, we were met with jumps of joy and laughter! Dressed in costumes, the group was in high spirits.
After a late start, the canoe section of the trip last week ended up being difficult, yet rewarding. A strenuous portion of canoeing allowed for some group bonding and personality quirks to shine through. The group was tighter and relationships seemed to be developing beautifully among everyone. Long portages and windy days left the Questers physically tired but excited for the start of their hiking portion of their trip.
The resupply day on Saturday gave Quester trip leaders, Caroline and Colleen, some time to do laundry and let the Questers relax for a bit. After a good meal of eggs and hash browns, they spent the day writing letters, coloring, reading and napping – time well spent!
We left the group at the Rattle River Trailhead, packing their packs and eating lunch. The Questers will be hiking a section of the Appalachian Trail in New Hampshire for the next seven days. Look forward to spectacular views and exciting stories after the next resupply!
