Hello from the Barn Day Camp!
We have spent a busy couple of weeks in staff training getting ready to host our campers. We’ve learned group games, designed a group contract, sang many songs, and got CPR/First Aid certified. The weather has been spectacular. Today is our first day of rain, which did not stop us or slow us down. Tonight, all of the the staff go out on an overnight and get to practice their camping skills.
This year, we have many new faces mixed in with returning summer staff. It’s always exciting to get new staff who bring in new ideas and activities. We also have several new activity heads who are eager to begin working with campers. We also have a pig named Magnolia, goats, and rabbits.
As a handy guide, here is a link to our BDC calendar, which has the special days such as Adventure Day and overnight trips marked as helpful reminders. https://goo.gl/e6qkZD

Here are some reminders of what will be needed on the first day, June 27. We provide morning and afternoon snacks, but we do not provide lunch. All campers need rain gear and covered shoes (this means shoes with no holes). A pair of rain boots is sufficient and each camper will have a cubby for their stuff. There are many areas of camp where they can wear flip flops, crocs, keens or no shoes. Please be sure to label everything, including shoes. We are looking forward to a fun summer at the BDC filled with giggles and laughter.
Peace,
Polly Williams
