Parents joined in the wacky fun of Topsy Turvy Tuesday at drop off time.
Campers danced, did three-legged races, Made some jewelry, sang with pirates, chased greased watermelons at the BDC waterfront, careened down the slip ‘n slide on mattresses and ended with a fun dance including traditional F&W contra dances. We also had some fun recorded music, including songs like the chicken dance, the cha cha slide, and the cupid shuffle. All the dancing was done, of course, while wearing zany costumes.
This the last of three Topsy Turvy Tuesdays for the summer. This time, parents even joined in the fun wearing crazy costumes as well as joining the morning circle.
Staff enjoy this day as much if not more than campers. How often do you get to wear outfits like this to your job? Would you entrust your children to this crew who runs the day camp? Or, maybe we are the exact kinda folks you want your children to spend time with.
One of the joys of running the day camp is how incredible the staff are. What amazing folks who want to dress crazy and come design and run an incredible camp program that is zany and fun and cooperative and silly and even educational in many ways.
What would the world be like if every organization and including businesses and corporations had a Topsy Turvy day once a month. Hmmm.
What a glorious day filled with festivities.
