We greeted 119 campers at Indian Brook on a sunny second half opening day! This week returning and full campers have been orienting your camper by learning about the Indian Brook schedule and how they can find success at camp this summer. The sun is shining and smiles are all around here while girls start to carve a spoon, swim to the snow bar, learn all about how to prepare for their upcoming trips, friendship bracelet making, and improv theater games.
While discovering the garden, a Radish Rap transpires during garden beautification time:
Radish Rap
Master Beet Juice, Turnip da Beat!
My name is royal radish
I do it on the daily,
Photosynthin’ sunshine, making this amazing
Color, I’m redder than the beat or tomato
IB Garden swag, say AY OH!
Some call me spicy, others say I’m feisty
Either way you cut me up you’re gonna want a bite
But hold up, haven’t ya’ll heard I’m Quaker
Need some peaceful Vitamins? I’m your maker!
I hope you lovely people liked this didily
It was just something to introduce me,
If you really want to know how I get down
Climb the hill to the garden and find my crown
Royal Radish Out
Whether it is her first time or fourth time at camp, we are here to encourage your camper to find her voice and be a positive part of the community. Cabin contracts and rights & responsibilities were all shared on the first night so everyone can learn to work and support each other.
The silliness continues as we create Haiku poems to post in the KYBO’s.
Many times I think
That there is no place like home
Home on my Kybo
OR
Really have to go
Run to the nearest Kybo
Before it’s too late
OR
Kybo’s are treasures
Sometimes they’re not easy finds
I’m glad you found me
OR
Thoughts come together
In transcendence on Kybo’s
The best place to think
