Actually, the sun is coming out today! We had Silent Meeting in our outdoor meeting area today and we gave a big cheer to welcome the patch of blue sky above us.
I thank all of you for letting us spend some time with your wonderful boys. Several of them spoke up in meeting already about their attachment to the camp and sent messages of welcome to everyone for whom this is their first summer.
Last night we took advantage of a lull in the rain and played an all camp gave of ‘”Sticks” (think “Capture The Flag” with 20 flags). Laundry pick up was moved up to this morning to make sure we all stay dry and comfortable.
Some activities were moved indoors yesterday, but we managed to offer a bumper crops of options from rock climbing to carving wooden spoons.
The group has been singing with volume and heart our camp songs and each cabin is bonding nicely.
Regarding these blog entries, I hope to keep you informed without feeling overwhelmed. I’m going to aim for more frequent and concise posts. Think “Facebook” updates for Timberlake rather than “open letters to parents”. Feedback is of course welcome.
Hasta pronto, and until the next post!
