Application Process

BE PREPARED TO GROW, WITH US.

We believe candidates should know what to expect.

Learn about the application process and the other basics of working for F&W. We’ll be in contact between each step to guide you through the process. 

Counselor Positions starting at $2496 + Room & Board

2025 Dates: June 7th to August 14th

2025 Camp Leadership Dates: June 1st to August 14th

Note: There is some flexibility around dates based on Hiring Director discretion. Additional salary based on certifications, experience, specific role, and more.

Step 1:
Submit a short online application

It’s quick and easy. Resume not required (but do submit one if you have it - we promise we won’t make you type it in again after!).

Step 2:
Interview #1 with F&W Staff

We’ll schedule a 30 minute interview where we’ll want to know why you want to work camp and your relevant experience. We’ll also help you choose which camp and position is right for you. NEW FOR 2025: OPTIONAL 1-WAY INTERVIEW

Step 3:
Interview #2 with Camp Director

This longer interview will be a chance for you to get to know your (potential) future Director and for us to get to know you. Bring questions!

Step 4:
Offer extended

If it’s a good match, you’ll receive an email offer with dates and salary.

Step 5:
Reference & Background Check

If you receive an offer from one of our camp directors, we’ll conduct a background check and ask for references (we do work with kids after all).

Step 6:
Paperwork and Come to Camp!

After all that you’ll complete your paperwork (including proof you’re legally eligible to work) and prepare to travel to camp. Don’t worry, we’ll help you figure out how to get here!
