Zach Podhorzer and Zac
Heyman, co-directors of Flying Cloud, met when they were 12 years old as campers together in Bears Cabin at Timberlake. Since then they both developed lifelong relationships with Farm & Wilderness attending Tamarack Farm for two summers and almost an entire decade of summers working together at Flying Cloud. They have both been dynamic leaders in the community, working to blend a powerful message of social justice into Flying Cloud's immersive wilderness community experience..
is not getting ready for the summer, he is a French translator and interpreter focusing on youth development, inter-cultural understanding, and green energy. His free time is spent cooking, keeping up with news and politics in the Francophone and Anglophone worlds, drawing maps of imaginary cities, and getting to the woods whenever he can.
Zach currently spends most of his time in western Massachusetts where he is studying for a Master’s Degree in Social Justice Education. Beyond Flying Cloud and his studies, Zach spends his free time practicing and teaching wilderness skills and crafts, fly fishing, playing disc golf and getting into the woods with his lovable mutt, Raya.
