Community Doesn't End When Camp Does.

Hi Folks. Here is a little update about what is happening with the Alumni page. Each week I will be publishing a new article. I will also be publishing them to a blog so that folks can see past stories.

This week in the archives, I found some articles about some interesting F&W lore. I learned that Mad Morgan was an actual person. I was convinced that Len Cadwallader made up the story about Mad Morgan’s grave because he always told us to look for it when we were bugging him pre and post camp. Dan Stout, Matt Cadwallader, David Nichols and I spent hours in the woods looking. About 5 years ago, I found it on F&W property…. or did I? How many have been to Mad Morgan’s potato patch? Below are some explanations of “Mad Morgan, The Wallywampus, Bishop Mowing/Springs and The Hall Reserve” history. Ask your current campers what they have heard. Especially the TLers. Enjoy the explanation. The question is, “Is it true.”
Polly has been part of Farm & Wilderness for 41 years as a camper, seasonal staff member, director, and several year-round roles. Outside of her work at F&W, she has provided training for boards and organizations in anti-bias work, gender, sexuality, and issues surrounding adoption. She lives in Barre, VT with her wife. Her two children are third generation F&Wers. The oldest, Cedar attended the BDC and SAM, and most recently was the Adventure Head at F&W. Polly's daughter Terri went through the BDC and FS as a camper while managing to never live in a cabin that Polly lived in while at FS for 13 years. Polly loves working with children, being silly, canoeing, rock climbing, team sports, leisure tubing, camping and being out in nature.
