Wondering where you might get some of the items on the list? Consider your local outfitters, sporting goods shops, large specialty stores and more. There is also really good pre-loved (used, experienced, pre-owned) camping equipment out there too. Check at thrift stores, consignment shops, yard sales, in the newspaper, Craig’s List or eBay. Your family or friends may also have gear for you to use. Whether you spend $400 on a shiny new shell or $4 at a thrift store for a good poncho—just find what works best for you.
